New media artist Susie J Lee merges digital technologies with physical objects to create systems of experiential art forms from material phenomena. Using experimental technologies to evoke poetic experiences, her installations and sculptures hover between the physical and the ephemeral. Lee’s work has been exhibited throughout the US and internationally in Korea and Italy, and is in both private and institution collections. She has degrees in Molecular Biophysics and Biochemistry at Yale University with a Masters in Science Education at Columbia University. Her MFA was awarded from the University of Washington. Susie has received a number of grants, awards and public commissions from 4Culture, Artist Trust, CityArtist Projects and other individuals and businesses. She has taught at the Frye Art Museum, the University of Washington, Centrum Arts, and inner-city alternative schools in NYC. Susie likes to read Murakami while falling asleep. She most recently finished A Wild Sheep Chase and Underground.

Landscape Architect and avid hiker Elizabeth Umbanhowar balances her interests of site and space with art with the Occidental Park project. She currently works at Parametrix for the 520 bridge replacement after receiving her MLA degree from the University of Washington in Landscape Architecture. Elizabeth has a background English and Art History and worked at the Wing Luke Asian Museum as its grant writer and the Kirkland Arts Center as its executive director. She has also hiked a significant portion of the Pacific Coast trail and could have probably heard the entire oeuvre of Murakami’s work as audiobooks if they were all available. She most recently finished Kafka on the Shore.
